ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s armed forces are continuing retaliatory operations against Afghan Taliban positions and terrorists of the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, security sources said on Tuesday.
Security sources said Pakistani forces had destroyed several Afghan Taliban posts and terrorist hideouts during recent operations in the Arandu and Kurram sectors near the border.
According to the security sources, the attacks targeted locations used by terrorists belonging to the TTP, which the Pakistani state refers to as “Fitna al-Khawarij”, as well as Afghan Taliban positions supporting cross-border attacks inside Pakistan.
“The coward Afghan Taliban fled away from the spot following the attacks,” the security sources said, adding that the Pakistan Army was targeting only terrorist hideouts and military installations linked to the terrorist groups.
Operations in Arandu and Kurram sectors
State broadcaster PTV News reported, citing security sources, that the Pakistan Army destroyed “important posts and centres” during a timely operation in the Arandu and Kurram sectors.

The report said Afghan Taliban terrorists abandoned the positions after facing “effective attacks and retaliatory actions” by Pakistani forces.
Security sources said that the military actions were aimed at dismantling terrorist hideouts and operational bases used by Afghan Taliban terrorists and TTP terrorists along the border.
Ammunition depot destroyed in Paktika
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s armed forces carried out a “successful operation” targeting an ammunition depot at the Shaheen Base in Afghanistan’s Paktika province, according to security sources.
The report said the ammunition storage facility was completely destroyed during the operation.
It added that Afghan Taliban and TTP hideouts and military installations were being targeted during ongoing actions along the Pak-Afghan border.

State media also reported that Pakistani forces destroyed another Afghan Taliban post near the Shawal area of South Waziristan.
According to security sources, the post was destroyed using explosives, forcing Afghan Taliban and terrorists of Fitna al-Khawarij to flee the location.
The report said the retaliatory actions were being carried out under Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq, which Pakistani authorities say targets terrorists responsible for attacks inside the country.

Infiltration attempt foiled in Chaman
Security sources said Pakistani forces also thwarted a terrorist infiltration attempt by terrorists along the Pak-Afghan border in Chaman on Sunday.
According to the security sources, three to four terrorists attempted to cross into Pakistani territory but were engaged by security forces.
“One terrorist was killed in an exchange of fire while others managed to escape injured,” the security sources said.
Sources said security personnel recovered four to five improvised explosive devices and fence-cutting equipment from the killed terrorist.
Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Sunday that Pakistani forces had killed 583 Afghan Taliban terrorists and destroyed 242 of their checkposts since the launch of Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq.
In a post on X, Tarar said that at least 795 Afghan Taliban terrorists had been injured during the operation.
He said Pakistani forces had also captured and destroyed 38 terrorist posts and destroyed 213 tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery guns belonging to Afghan Taliban terrorists.
Tarar added that 64 locations across Afghanistan had been “effectively targeted by air” during the operation.
