MAKKAH: The General Directorate of Civil Defence has intensified its field operations in Makkah and Madinah by deploying additional safety patrols and rapid response teams throughout the final ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.

The comprehensive security plan involves the strategic deployment of additional safety patrols, rapid intervention teams, and advanced monitoring units around the clock, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

These measures are specifically designed to reinforce preventive safety protocols, ensure the optimal functionality of fire protection and early warning systems, and guarantee immediate emergency response times.

The Directorate emphasised its commitment to safeguarding visitors staying in accommodations near the Two Holy Mosques and confirmed that designated safe assembly points have been established outside these facilities to ensure the highest levels of safety for all pilgrims and visitors.

The directorate urged the public to comply with safety instructions and report any emergencies immediately.

The last ten days of Ramadan are considered the most sacred and spiritually powerful period for Muslims. Large numbers of Muslims also travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah during these day.

Performing Umrah in this blessed period is considered highly rewarding, and the holy mosques witness millions of worshippers.
