RIYADH:  Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has discussed the latest regional and international developments with Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun in Riyadh.

During the meeting, they discussed recent regional and international developments, their implications for the Gulf region, and ongoing efforts to promote stability and security, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.

Separately, the General Directorate of Civil Defence reported that a military projectile struck a residential site belonging to a maintenance and cleaning company in Al-Kharj Governorate earlier today.

The incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals—an Indian and a Bangladeshi national—and left 12 other Bangladeshi residents injured, in addition to causing material damage.

The directorate stressed that targeting civilian sites represents a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

Standard emergency protocols were immediately implemented to respond to the incident and assist the affected individuals.

Saudi authorities reiterated that the Kingdom’s armed forces remain fully prepared to respond to any threats targeting its territory and the safety of its citizens and residents.

The statement said the armed forces maintain a high level of readiness to protect the Kingdom and deal decisively with hostile attempts that threaten security and stability.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has already warned Iran of retaliation if such attacks are not stopped.

Separately, Iran has announced that it would not attack neighbours, unless their land is used for attacks on Iranian territories.
