LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has launched the official logo for its 11th edition, marking the beginning of preparations for the upcoming season.

The league revealed the new branding through its official X account, showcasing a design that prominently incorporates the Urdu word for eleven (گیارہ) alongside the number “11”.

The announcement comes as the tournament approaches its scheduled start on March 26 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

The upcoming season will be historic for the league as it expands to eight teams for the first time.

Defending champions Lahore Qalandars will open the tournament against debutants Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, with the opening ceremony set to take place before the match in Lahore.

In a recent development ahead of the new season, the franchise previously known as Sialkot Stallionz has been renamed Multan Sultans.

Franchise valuation

The change follows a majority acquisition by CD Ventures, with Gohar Shah taking over as the franchise’s chief executive officer. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) approved the rebranding, and the team’s annual franchise valuation has risen from Rs1.85 billion to Rs2 billion.

PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer confirmed details of the opening fixture during a media interaction alongside representatives of the franchises.

He also stated that Lahore will host a significant number of matches during the first phase of the tournament, while the complete schedule is expected to be announced soon.

Naseer further noted that discussions are ongoing regarding the possibility of staging a PSL match outside Pakistan to engage overseas fans, as the league continues efforts to broaden its international presence.
