MADINAH: Saudi Arabia has officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art smart interactive mapping system for both the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.
Eng. Ghazi Al-Shahrani, CEO of the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque inaugurated the initiative, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The advanced digital platform is designed to revolutionise visitor movement by dramatically improving navigational efficiency within the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
During temporary closures or peak crowd densities, the system provides visitors with immediate, precise route updates, directing them to the most suitable paths to ensure safety and ease of movement.
Powered by a robust digital infrastructure, the smart map features over 950 key points of interest spanning 13 service categories.
