PM Shehbaz Sharif to Visit Austria

ISLAMABAD: At the invitation of Christian Stocker, Federal Chancellor of Austria, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, will undertake an official visit to Vienna, Austria, on 15–16 February 2026.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information Mr Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with his Austrian counterpart. The two leaders will take stock of the entire gamut of bilateral relations.

The Prime Minister will also chair a meeting of the Pakistan–Austria Business Forum, which is being organised by the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKO). He will also visit multilateral organisations.

Pakistan and Austria enjoy cordial and friendly relations, underpinned by shared values of dialogue, cooperation, an international order based on the principles of the UN Charter, multilateralism, and respect for international law.

This visit by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Vienna marks the first visit by a Pakistani Prime Minister to Austria in over three decades, the last having been undertaken by the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in 1992. This visit marks 70 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
