Pakistan Desires Enhanced Economic Ties with Turkiye

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed the country’s desire to further promote its brotherly ties and economic partnership with Turkiye.

He made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation of Turkiye led by the Chairman of the Board of Turkish Agricultural Technologies Cluster, Abdulkadir Karagöz, in Islamabad on Thursday, the state-run Radio Pakistan reported.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasised that there are numerous opportunities for deepening cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye in the agriculture and livestock sectors.

Appreciating the Turkiye’s development, achieved by the use of modern technology in the agricultural produce and livestock sectors, he said Pakistan is also determined to align its agricultural sector with innovation.

Noting that nature has blessed Pakistan with abundant agricultural resources, the Prime Minister said efforts are underway to fully harness this potential by incorporating cutting-edge technology.

He added that both countries can play a pivotal role together in the global food value chain.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Turkish Agricultural Technologies Cluster, Abdulkadir Karagöz, remarked that the leadership of Turkiye and Pakistan serves as a beacon of light for strengthening cooperation between the business communities of the two nations.

He also gave a briefing on the use of modern technology to increase production.

The Chairman of the Turkish Agricultural Technologies Cluster expressed his desire to enhance cooperation between both countries in the agriculture and livestock sectors.

Pakistan and Turkiye share close and longstanding bilateral relations rooted in mutual trust, shared history, and cultural affinity. The two countries cooperate closely in areas such as trade, defence, education, and strategic affairs.

High-level exchanges and regular consultations have further strengthened their partnership in recent years. Both sides have expressed commitment to enhancing economic collaboration, increasing bilateral trade, and expanding investment opportunities.

Pakistan and Turkiye also support each other on key regional and international issues, reflecting their strong diplomatic alignment.
