ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is participating in the World Defence Show (WDS) 2026 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, presenting its advanced JF-17 Thunder Block III multi-role fighter aircraft and the widely recognised Super Mushshak basic trainer, according to a statement released by the military media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday.

The World Defence Show 2026 serves as a premier global platform for defence and security, bringing together international military officials, defence industry leaders and technology experts, the statement said.

PAF’s participation at the exhibition underscores Pakistan’s growing profile as an emerging centre of aerospace innovation, operational competence and reliable defence solutions.

The display highlights PAF’s commitment to demonstrating Pakistan’s rapidly advancing indigenous aerospace capabilities and its proven operational excellence.

The JF-17 Thunder Block III, representing the latest evolution of Pakistan’s combat aviation technology, features state-of-the-art avionics, an advanced Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, an enhanced electronic warfare suite and beyond-visual-range combat capability.

These features position the aircraft as a formidable 4.5-generation fighter designed to meet the complex operational requirements of modern air forces.

Alongside the JF-17 Block III, the Super Mushshak trainer aircraft showcases Pakistan’s strength in providing comprehensive pilot training solutions.

Known for its reliability, cost-effectiveness and ease of maintenance, the Super Mushshak has been successfully inducted by several friendly countries and continues to serve as a benchmark platform for basic flying training across the world.

PAF officials said the force’s presence at WDS-2026 reflects the leadership’s broader vision of enhancing defence cooperation, promoting defence exports and strengthening strategic partnerships with friendly nations.

The exhibition offers an opportunity for international delegations, defence officials and defence industry stakeholders to engage directly with PAF representatives and explore potential avenues for collaboration, training initiatives and technology transfer.
