France, Bahrain Ink Deal to Strengthen Defence Cooperation

PARIS: France and Bahrain have formalised a defence agreement aimed at enhancing their collaboration in strategic information sharing.

“This agreement will ⁠also open up new opportunities for industrial cooperation in defence, and strengthen solidarity between our two countries in a ⁠global and regional geopolitical context marked by increasing tensions,” the ⁠office of French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday.

France and Bahrain maintain strong and growing bilateral relations, marked by regular high‑level meetings and cooperation across diplomatic, economic, and cultural fields.

The two countries actively collaborate on economic and investment initiatives, with French businesses involved in key Bahraini infrastructure and transport projects, and ongoing efforts to expand partnerships in logistics, digital innovation, and financial services.

Cultural and sporting exchanges, such as joint events celebrating athletic achievements and educational cooperation programmes, highlight the broad and friendly engagement between the people of France and Bahrain.

Both countries continue to emphasise shared values, dialogue, and mutual support for peace and stability in the region, strengthening their long‑standing friendship.
