RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and Qatar have held discussions on recent regional developments and explored collaborative measures to address them effectively.

This came during a meeting between Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Saudi Minister of Defence Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan in Doha, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

During the meeting, the minister conveyed the greetings of the Saudi leadership to the Amir of Qatar.

The meeting highlighted the strong and longstanding ties between the two brotherly nations.

The discussion also focused on recent regional developments, efforts to address them, and other matters of mutual interest.

Senior officials from both sides were also present on the occasion.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar share a growing partnership rooted in regional cooperation and mutual interests.

In recent years, both nations have strengthened diplomatic ties, enhanced economic collaboration, and coordinated on key regional issues.

Last month, the two countries signed a landmark agreement to build a high-speed rail link, marking the first project of its kind between the two Gulf nations.

The planned rail route will directly connect Riyadh’s King Salman International Airport with Doha’s Hamad International Airport, reducing travel time between the two capitals to just two hours and providing a faster, more efficient alternative to conventional travel.
