“Pakistan remains ready to play its positive role in strengthening the values of partnership, brotherhood, and unity for lasting peace and stability in the region,” Tahir Andrabi added.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday, during which the two leaders “discussed and exchanged views on the regional situation and current developments”.
While expressing Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the Kingdom, Prime Minister Sharif said that it was imperative to maintain regional peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy, according to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Press Wing
Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Office, in a statement, reaffirmed its commitment to the Kingdom’s security. Pakistan also expressed support for all efforts aimed at establishing lasting peace and stability in Yemen.
On Tuesday, the United Arab Emirates announced the withdrawal of its remaining counter-terrorism units from Yemen, saying the decision was taken after a review of recent developments on the ground.
The decision came after Saudi Arabia expressed strong concern over recent actions by the UAE in Yemen, warning that they posed serious risks to Saudi national security and to the stability of Yemen and the wider region.
