ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening and enhancing bilateral ties with Pakistan.
The commitment was made by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan during a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday, according to a statement issued by the foreign office.
“Both leaders exchanged views on the current regional situation and recent developments,” it added. During the call, Ishaq Dar conveyed Season’s Greetings and best wishes for the New Year to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Deputy PM expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations. Prince Faisal, in his remarks, reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to further strengthening and enhancing bilateral ties.
The conversation came in the backdrop of the evolving situation in Yemen. Pakistan has already expressed strong support for diplomatic efforts led by Saudi Arabia to promote peace and stability in Yemen.
Islamabad underscored the importance of preserving Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity, urging Yemeni stakeholders to avoid unilateral actions that could further escalate tensions.
The statement called on all Yemeni parties to engage constructively and in good faith in an inclusive dialogue based on agreed parameters.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have historically maintained close ties, and in recent months, both countries have worked to further broaden their cooperation.
In September, they signed a security agreement stipulating that any aggression against one country would be considered an attack on both. The pact was widely seen as formalising longstanding military cooperation into a binding commitment to strengthen joint deterrence.
Saudi Arabia is also home to over 2.5 million Pakistani expatriates and remains the largest source of remittances for Pakistan’s $407 billion economy.
