RAWALPINDI: On the 149th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Father of the Nation, Pakistan’s armed forces reaffirmed their commitment to his vision of a strong, sovereign, democratic, and prosperous Pakistan, according to a military statement on Thursday.
In a statement, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces CDF, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff; and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff, on behalf of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, pay rich tribute to the Father of the Nation.
“The Armed Forces reaffirm their unwavering commitment to Quaid-e-Azam’s vision of a strong, sovereign, democratic, and prosperous Pakistan, founded on the principles of faith, unity, and discipline,” ISPR said.
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birthday on December 25 coincides with Christmas, bringing double celebrations and adding extra cheer to the end of the year in Pakistan. The day is observed as a public holiday across the country.
Born in 1876 in Karachi, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah played a pivotal role in the Pakistan Movement, ultimately leading to the creation of a separate homeland for Muslims of the Indian subcontinent.
The military leadership emphasised that Quaid-e-Azam’s exemplary leadership, constitutionalism, and steadfast resolve continue to guide the nation and its Armed Forces in confronting contemporary challenges.
The Armed Forces of Pakistan reiterated their resolve to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to contribute wholeheartedly towards national stability, peace, and development, in line with the ideals and aspirations of Quaid-e-Azam, the statement added.
“On this day, the Armed Forces also extend heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community of Pakistan, acknowledging their valuable contributions to the nation’s progress and reaffirming the commitment to Quaid-e-Azam’s vision of equal rights, religious freedom, and harmony for all citizens,” ISPR said.
The Armed Forces expressed their commitment to uphold the legacy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and to serve the nation with honour, courage, and devotion.
