ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Bahrain on Tuesday reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening defence and naval cooperation during talks between the Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force and Pakistan’s Naval Chief in Islamabad.
Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force, Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohamed Ebrahim Al Bin Ali, called on Pakistan’s Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, at Naval Headquarters, according to a statement issued by the Directorate General Public Relations (Pakistan Navy).
During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional maritime security and avenues for enhanced bilateral naval cooperation.
Both commanders agreed to further expand professional interaction and defence collaboration between the two navies, the statement said.
The talks reflected a shared commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region and underscored the strong and friendly relations between Pakistan and Bahrain.

Upon arrival at Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Al Bin Ali was received by Admiral Naveed Ashraf.
A smartly turned out contingent of the Pakistan Navy presented a guard of honour to the visiting commander, the Pakistan Navy said.
The Bahraini naval chief later laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Navy.

In November, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a two-day official visit to Bahrain, where he met King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in Manama.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, both sides reaffirmed the strong and historic partnership between Pakistan and Bahrain, rooted in shared faith and mutual respect.
The two countries also reiterated the importance of their longstanding defence partnership and agreed to enhance cooperation in areas including training, logistics, manpower and defence production.
The recent high-level exchanges reflect continued momentum in Pakistan-Bahrain relations, particularly in economic, defence and security cooperation.
