JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have agreed to enhance cooperation in Islamic affairs, promote moderation, and combat extremism.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh received Pakistan’s Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Zaman and the accompanying delegation in Jeddah.
The meeting covered several areas of mutual interest, including cooperation in Islamic affairs, the exchange of expertise in dawah programmes, and joint efforts to promote moderation and combat extremism.
Al Alsheikh emphasised the strong fraternal ties between the two countries and their collaboration across various fields, particularly in Islamic initiatives.
He noted that the Kingdom, under its leadership, places great importance on everything that serves Pakistan.
Highlighting the deep religious sentiment of the Pakistani people, he called for further cooperation to promote authentic Islamic brotherhood and strengthen the principles of moderation and tolerance.
The Pakistani minister praised the Kingdom and its leadership for their support across multiple sectors.
He expressed appreciation for the Kingdom’s continued backing of religious, humanitarian, and development initiatives, and lauded its role as a global example in advancing the values of tolerance and coexistence among nations.
