Farhan Yousaf to Captain Pakistan U19 in ACC Asia Cup 2025

LAHORE, Pakistan: Farhan Yousaf, who represented Pakistan in last year’s ACC U19 Asia Cup, has been named captain for the upcoming edition of the tournament.

The 50-over event, set to be held in Dubai from 12 to 21 December 2025, will feature eight teams competing for the title.

After their semi-final loss to Bangladesh in the previous tournament, Pakistan has been placed in Group ‘A’ alongside India, Qualifier 1, and Qualifier 3. Group ‘B’ includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Qualifier 2, and Sri Lanka.

This tournament will be crucial preparation for the Pakistan U19 squad ahead of the ICC U19 World Cup, co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia in January and February 2026.

Pakistan’s first match will take place on Friday, 12 December, against Qualifier 3 at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai.

Their second group match will be against India on Sunday, 14 December, at the ICC Academy Ground, with their final group fixture set for Tuesday, 16 December, at the same venue.

The semi-finals will be held on 19 December at both The Sevens Stadium and ICC Academy Ground, with the final scheduled for Sunday, 21 December.

Farhan, aged 18, recently led Lahore Region Whites in the National Men’s U19 Cup, where he scored 369 runs in seven matches, including a century and two half-centuries.

Usman Khan, who scored a century in the previous ACC U19 Asia Cup, will serve as Farhan’s vice-captain.

Usman, representing FATA in the National Men’s U19 Cup, scored 429 runs in seven matches, which included two centuries and a half-century.

The Pakistan U19 team will begin a training camp in Karachi before heading to Dubai, with travel arrangements to be finalised soon.
