ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam and wicket keeper Mohammad Rizwan have climbed the latest ICC ODI rankings after playing key roles in the team’s dominant 3-0 whitewash of Sri Lanka.

Babar moved up one spot to sixth with 722 points, while Salman Ali Agha retained his 16th position. Rizwan made one of the biggest gains among Pakistani batters, jumping five places to 22nd.

Fakhar Zaman also rose five spots to 26th with 589 points. On the other hand, Saim Ayub dropped to 38th, and Imam-ul-Haq fell seven places to 54th.

In a major shift at the top, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has dethroned India’s Rohit Sharma as the No. 1 ODI batter. Sharma now sits second, with Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran third, and India’s Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli completing the top five.

Among bowlers, Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed made a remarkable surge of 11 places to enter the top 10 at ninth with 624 points.

Shaheen Afridi slipped to 21st, while Haris Rauf climbed to 23rd. Naseem Shah dropped to 36th, and Mohammad Wasim Jr soared 20 places to 64th. Spinner Mohammad Nawaz slid seven places to 71st.

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan continues to reign as the world’s No. 1 ODI bowler, followed by England’s Jofra Archer and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj.
