ISLAMABAD: After attending a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Moscow, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Belgium on Wednesday to attend the 7th Session of Pakistan-EU Strategic Dialogue in Brussels.
During his three-day visit, he will also attend the 4th EU-Indo Pacific Ministerial Forum to be held from 20-21 November 2025 in Brussels, a Foreign Office statement said.
Upon arrival, Ishaq Dar was received by the Foreign Secretary, Amna Baloch, Ambassador of Pakistan to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the EU, Rahim Hayat Qureshi, and officers from the Pakistan Embassy.
While leading the Pakistan delegation in the Pakistan-EU Strategic Dialogue and Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum, the Deputy Prime Minister will also engage in meetings with his counterparts from different countries and senior EU officials.
The Foreign Office (FO) said in a press release on Wednesday that the Pakistan-EU Strategic Dialogue represents the highest level of institutionalised engagement between the two sides.
It added that Foreign Minister Dar was in Moscow to head Pakistan’s delegation at the SCO summit.
The statement noted that Dar’s visit to Brussels represents a “significant milestone in Pakistan–EU relations” and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to building a “comprehensive and mutually beneficial partnership” with the EU.

Before departing from Russia, Dar expressed his gratitude to the host government for its “warm hospitality and the successful organisation” of the SCO moot, the FO said on social media platform X.

Ishaq Dar also held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergey Lavrov, on the sidelines of the SCO-Council of Heads of Government meeting in Moscow.
“Both sides reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and expressed deep satisfaction at the current positive trajectory of relations,” a Foreign Office statement said.
Dar noted the vital role of both countries’ leadership as well as bilateral institutional mechanisms in further strengthening the bilateral relations.
In addition, both leaders exchanged views on wide-ranging regional and international issues.
