Pakistan and Qatar signed a protocol to formalise Doha’s $3 billion investment pledge through the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) or designated investment vehicles. The accord aims to boost cooperation in energy, agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure, with the SIFC and QIA set to streamline investment procedures and facilitate project execution.
Both sides agreed to expand collaboration in transport—particularly in rail, metro, and green public transport systems—and explore Qatari participation in major motorway projects such as the Kharian–Rawalpindi and Karachi–Hyderabad routes.
Broader Cooperation: Education, Health, Media and Labour Mobility
The talks also covered education, health, and cultural collaboration. Both sides discussed new MoUs to strengthen technical training, joint academic research, and medical cooperation — including facilitating Pakistani professionals’ recruitment in Qatar’s health sector.
In culture and media, agreements were signed between Qatar News Agency and the Associated Press of Pakistan to promote news exchange, film collaborations, and media training. The two countries will also pursue a “Year of Culture” initiative and fast-track visas for cultural and academic exchanges.
On labour cooperation, Pakistan and Qatar agreed to expedite a new MoU to deploy skilled Pakistani workers in Qatar and share best practices in workforce management.
In concluding remarks, both ministers reaffirmed their resolve to transform commitments into tangible outcomes and enhance business-to-business linkages for mutual growth.
