ISLAMABAD: TikTok removed over 25.4 million videos in Pakistan between April and June 2025 for violating its community guidelines, the platform said in its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report released on Monday.

The report covers the period from April to June 2025 and highlights the platform’s proactive efforts in moderating content and maintaining a secure space for its global community.
Content removal and violations in Pakistan
In Q2 2025, TikTok removed a significant 25,448,992 videos in Pakistan due to violations of its Community Guidelines, the company stated in its report.
Impressively, 99.7% of these removals were proactive, with 96.2% of the videos taken down within 24 hours of being uploaded.
The swift removal of such content is part of TikTok’s ongoing strategy to maintain a positive user experience while adhering to community safety standards.
Global content removal overview
Globally, TikTok removed a total of 189,578,228 videos in the second quarter of 2025, representing approximately 0.7% of all content uploaded to the platform.
Of these, 163,962,241 videos were identified and removed using automated detection technologies.
However, 7,457,309 videos were reinstated after further review. The proactive removal rate globally stood at an impressive 99.1%, with 94.4% of flagged content being taken down within 24 hours of posting.
TikTok removed 76,991,660 fake accounts globally, alongside 25,904,708 accounts suspected of being under the age of 13, underscoring the platform’s commitment to maintaining a safe and legitimate user base.
Categories of violative content
The report outlines the types of content that were most commonly removed for violating TikTok’s guidelines:
- 6% of the removed videos contained sensitive or mature themes that violated TikTok’s content policies.
- 0% breached safety and civility standards.
- 1% were flagged for privacy and security violations.
- 0% were identified as misinformation.
- 8% of the videos removed involved edited media or AI-generated content.
TikTok’s proactive and detailed approach in identifying and removing violative content continues to evolve, reflecting its commitment to user safety and platform integrity.
LIVE Stream moderation and monetization guidelines
TikTok has made significant strides in moderating LIVE streams, with a notable increase in the number of streams suspended since the beginning of 2025.
This is attributed to the implementation of stronger moderation technologies. The platform also observed a small increase in the number of LIVE streams restored after an appeal, suggesting that TikTok’s enforcement measures are effectively targeting violative content.
To further support creators, TikTok has expanded its LIVE monetization guidelines. In Q2 2025, the platform took action on 2,321,813 LIVE sessions and 1,040,356 LIVE creators for violating monetization standards.
Actions taken included warnings and demonetization, aimed at educating creators and encouraging compliance with TikTok’s community standards.
TikTok will begin including LIVE safety data and enforcement actions in future reports to increase transparency about its efforts to protect the LIVE experience.
