ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing safe, orderly, and inclusive labour mobility by strengthening regional partnerships with Iran, Bangladesh, and Kuwait.
Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain reiterated this commitment during separate meetings with Bangladesh’s Advisor for Shipping and Labour and Employment, Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M. Sakhawat Hossain, Iran’s Labour Advisor, and the Secretary of Labour and Manpower of Kuwait, held on the sidelines of a regional conference in Doha, state-run news agency APP reported on Thursday.
In discussions with Iran, both countries agreed to enhance cooperation in the fields of labour, employment, and social protection under the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
They also stressed the importance of strengthening the Joint Working Group and expanding collaboration in skills development, social welfare, and social security initiatives.
In talks with the Bangladeshi representative, the two sides agreed to expand collaboration on labour migration, skills certification, and migrant welfare, and explore establishing a Pakistan–Bangladesh Joint Working Group on Labour and Migration.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain proposed hosting an expert-level meeting to identify and define joint priorities.
The Bangladeshi delegation accepted Pakistan’s invitation for a visit, reaffirming both countries’ commitment to sharing expertise and deepening bilateral cooperation.

During his meeting with the Kuwaiti Secretary of Labour and Manpower, the minister discussed expanding manpower collaboration, noting that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kuwait is currently under review.
He added that both sides are working on a comprehensive action plan to enhance opportunities for the Pakistani workforce.
The Iranian Labour Advisor also expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support during the Israel conflict and urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to prioritise youth employment across member states.
All three countries recognised Pakistan as a key force within the Muslim Ummah, committed to advancing social justice, the dignity of work, and migrant welfare through active labour diplomacy.
