ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Jordon have reiterated their commitment to further strengthen their bilateral ties through continued high-level engagement and cooperation for regional peace and stability.
The commitment was expressed during a telephonic conversation between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi on Wednesday, a Foreign Office statement said.
Ishaq Dar appreciated Jordan’s role in receiving the Global Sumud Flotilla’s released detainees and facilitating their return home.
“He also thanked Jordan for its assistance in enabling the return of Pakistan’s former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan to Amman, who is scheduled to reach Pakistan tomorrow,” the statement said.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a bilateral meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the sidelines of the Emergency Arab–Islamic Summit in Doha.
He commended King Abdullah II for his unwavering leadership on the Palestinian cause.
Both leaders emphasised the urgent need for Muslim unity in confronting Israel’s hostile actions and agreed to maintain close consultations to mobilize international support for peace and stability in the region.
