RIYADH: Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Turkiye State Railways (TCDD) to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in the railway sector.
The MoU was signed between the CEO of Saudi Railway Company (SAR), Dr. Bashar Al-Malik, and the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Turkish State Railways (TCDD), Veysi Kurt, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The MoU aims to enhance collaboration between the two organisations in key areas such as railway maintenance and repair, infrastructure development, capacity management, training, and consultancy.
The agreement reflects a shared commitment to building a comprehensive, long-term partnership in the railway sector.
The signing ceremony took place at SAR headquarters in Riyadh during a visit by the Turkish delegation.
The visit included a high-level meeting attended by several senior executives from both sides, followed by a field tour of the Operations and Control Centre, where the delegation was introduced to the latest technologies used in railway operations and maintenance.
