COLOMBO, Sri Lanka: Bangladesh Women secured a dominant seven-wicket win over Pakistan Women in their ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 clash on Thursday, chasing down a modest target of 130 with 113 balls to spare at the R. Premadasa Stadium.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Pakistan batting lines up faltered against Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack. Pakistan was bowled out for just 129 runs in 38.3 overs.

Spinner Shorna Akter starred with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for just 5 runs in 3.3 overs, while Nahida Akter and Marufa Akter grabbed two wickets apiece. Rabeya Khan also impressed with a tight spell of 1/13 in 7 overs.

Pakistan’s innings got off to a disastrous start, losing two wickets in the very first over. Only Fatima Sana (22), Rameen Shamim (23), and Diana Baig (16*) offered some resistance in an otherwise underwhelming batting effort.
