ISLAMABAD: Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson proved his power is still intact as he floored YouTube sensation MrBeast with a single body shot in Las Vegas, in a stunt that went viral just hours before the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford fight.
The demonstration, staged just hours before Crawford delivered a dominant performance against Alvarez, was intended to give the online star a firsthand experience of what it’s like to take a punch from a boxing legend.
Despite being 59, Tyson remains in fighting shape, having trained for an exhibition match against Jake Paul last year.
Shaken by the blow
That conditioning proved more than enough to overwhelm the unsuspecting MrBeast, who was visibly shaken by the blow.
“Mike Tyson is about to punch me, because thanks to Riyadh Season, Canelo vs Crawford is about to happen—it literally starts within an hour. After this, you need to go watch it,” said MrBeast, who boasts 435 million subscribers, just moments before the hit. Saudi advisor Turki Alalshikh looked on with amusement as Tyson delivered the punch.
Following a cue from MrBeast, “And to raise awareness I’m going to take a punch from Mike Tyson, whenever you’re ready”, Tyson unleashed a left hook to the body.
The forceful shot dropped the YouTuber to one knee, gasping for breath, as Tyson helped steady him.
