ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominees for the Women’s Player of the Month Award for July 2025, featuring England’s Sophia Dunkley and Sophie Ecclestone, alongside Ireland’s Gaby Lewis.
Sophia Dunkley, a key batter for England, had a strong performance in July during the series against India.
Although she struggled early in the month, scoring only one run in her second T20 match, she bounced back impressively.
Dunkley scored a match-winning half-century in the next game and finished the series as England’s top scorer with 151 runs.
In the ODI series that followed, she continued her good form, scoring 83 in the first match and a total of 126 runs in the series.
Sophie Ecclestone, Dunkley’s teammate, also had a great month. Despite England losing the T20 series 3-2, she played an important role in their victories.

On the other hand, Gaby Lewis, the captain of Ireland, also shone in July. Under her leadership, Ireland won both their ODI and T20 series against Zimbabwe. She scored 154 runs in three T20 matches, averaging 77, including two half-centuries.
Her best game was when she scored 87 runs in just 50 balls. Lewis also contributed as a bowler, taking three wickets in the T20 series, and she helped Ireland win both ODI matches with scores of 51 and 44.
