ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Met Office has warned that there is a possibility of flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, and Sialkot due to likely heavy rains tonight and August 6.
The Met Office said that an increase in water flow is expected in local streams in Dir, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Murree, Galliyat, and Kashmir due to likely heavy rainfall.

Hot and very humid weather is expected to persist in most parts of the country on Tuesday, according to the Pakistan Met Office.
The Met Office forecasts that rain-wind with thundershower is likely at isolated places in Upper Punjab, Potohar region, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir.
Earlier on Monday, the Met Office issued an alert of possible Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) for vulnerable glaciated regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa due to likely rains in the current week.

A wet spell
According to the Met Office, “The prevailing weather conditions increase the risk of Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF), flash flood, and landslide events in vulnerable glaciated regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa”.
The PMD said that a wet spell is likely to affect Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in the current week.
