ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Institute of Health (NIH) on Friday said that 12 new Covid-19 cases were reported during the last 24 hours in the country.
NIH stated that the ratio of positive cases was 0.33 % while nineteen patients were in critical condition. The National Health Institution said that no death was reported due to Covid-19 during the last 24 hours in the country. It said that total 3,583 tests were conducted in the country. Around 756 tests were conducted in Lahore, Punjab 320 in Islamabad, and 505 in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Abdul Qadir Patel said that the authorities have strengthened the role of Border and Health Services in the country to deal with Covid-19. He said that there was a surveillance system at all entry points of the country, especially at airports.

The Minister said that the situation was completely under control and urged the general public to avoid listening to rumors. He said that the Corona case passivity ratio was just 0.3 to 0.5 in the country while 90 percent of the population was already vaccinated.
He added that there will be rapid tests and screening of passengers at all airports. He said that an efficient mechanism with a proper management team was fully functional in Pakistan to remain vigilant and is ready to make an emergency plan to deal with any variant of Covid-19.
The minister said that Border and Health Services Pakistan was ensuring the implementation of international health regulations. He added that further steps were being taken to strengthen the role of Border and Health Services Pakistan. He further said that the health system was fully prepared to deal any situation.
According to the data of National Health Institute, no case was reported from Islamabad, one case was reported from Lahore and one case with a 0.20 % ratio from Peshawar was reported.
