ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s first responders are making their presence felt on the global stage, adding two more medals to their tally at the currently underway World Police and Fire Games in Alabama, USA.
With these latest victories, the country’s medal count has risen to three, and the momentum shows no signs of slowing.
Constable Ali Nawaz of Islamabad Police delivered a fierce performance in the 86kg cruiserweight boxing category, clinching a silver medal after a razor-thin 3-2 split decision loss to his Australian opponent in the gold medal bout. Nawaz’s grit and determination brought pride to the national camp, with his performance hailed as one of the tournament’s most thrilling matches so far.
Meanwhile, Punjab Police’s Farqan Khan muscled his way onto the podium in the 125kg freestyle wrestling category, winning bronze after overpowering challengers from the United States and Mongolia. Remarkably, this marks his second medal of the Games, having already secured bronze in the 130kg Greco-Roman event earlier in the week.

Held every two years, the World Police and Fire Games bring together thousands of athletes from police, fire, and emergency services across more than 70 nations. This year’s edition in Birmingham, Alabama, has become a platform for Pakistan’s heroes in uniform to showcase not just their professional bravery, but also their athletic excellence.
