ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the successful implementation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
During a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, here, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to closely collaborate with China, highlighting key initiatives under CPEC, including the upgradation of Main Line-1 (ML-I), realignment of the Karakoram Highway (KKH), full operationalisation of Gwadar Port, and enhanced cooperation in agriculture, industry, and the information technology sector.
He conveyed warm regards and good wishes to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang and extended his best wishes for the successful holding of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit. The Prime Minister also acknowledged ongoing bilateral consultations regarding his expected visit to China for the summit.

The two sides also discussed the evolving regional security situation, with a particular focus on the recent escalation in the Iran-Israel conflict. Ambassador Jiang praised Pakistan’s constructive and active diplomatic efforts at international platforms, including the United Nations Security Council, to seek a peaceful resolution through dialogue and diplomacy.
