RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, during a visit to the Naval Headquarters, appreciated the Pakistan Navy’s firm and effective response during “Operation Marka-e-Haq” against India, a military statement said on Thursday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf on the occasion briefed the President on the maritime security environment, operational readiness of the Navy, and the recent achievements under Operation Marka-e-Haq.

The President appreciated the Pakistan Navy’s firm and effective response during “Operation Marka-e-Haq” and lauded its unwavering commitment to national defence.

He also congratulated the naval forces on successfully defending against Indian aggression.

Earlier, upon arrival, the President was presented with a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Navy.

According to ISPR, President Zardari laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument to pay tribute to the sacrifices of naval personnel.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf thanked the President for his visit and reaffirmed the Navy’s resolve to continue safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime borders and national maritime interests.

It is pertinent to mention that the Pakistan Army had named the period of conflict with India from the April 22 Pahalgam attack to the May 10, 2025, conclusion of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos as “Marka-e-Haq”.

According to ISPR, the conduct of Pakistan Armed Forces Operation ‘Bunyanum Marsoos’, as part of the military conflict Marka-e-Haq, was in response to the Indian military’s dastardly attacks that began on the night of May 6 and 7, 2025, resulting in the loss of innocent civilian lives, including women, children, and the elderly.

Pakistan had vowed justice and retribution for the reprehensible Indian military aggression and brutal killings of its citizens.
