ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday announced the grand inauguration of Karachi’s National Stadium on February 11.

The announcement was made through PCB chairman Naqvi’s social media account, where he promised a night filled with entertainment, music, and dazzling fireworks.

He said Pakistan’s renowned singers Ali Zafar, Shafqat Amanat Ali, and Sahir Ali Bagga will perform at the ceremony.

“Get ready for another unforgettable night!” he said in a post on X.  “Plus, a breathtaking fireworks & light show to light up the sky!” he further said.

He also shared a transformation video of the stadium, highlighting the extensive renovations and improvements made to the iconic venue.

Karachi’s National Stadium is set to host three exciting games during the Champions Trophy 2025, including the curtain-raiser between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19.

On Friday Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ceremoniously unveiled the newly-revitalised Gaddafi Stadium on Friday, heralding a fresh era in the storied 65-year legacy of this iconic cricket venue.

It is pertinent to mention that the eight-team tournament, comprised of 15 matches, will run from February 19 to March 9, across three venues – Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi – in Pakistan and Dubai.

The eight teams are divided into two groups. Group A features Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while Group B is comprised of Afghanistan, South Africa, England, and Australia.
