RAWALPINDI: Administration in Rawalpindi district of Pakistan has registered two criminal cases (FIRs) and sealed three premises for violating anti-dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during the past week.
Dr. Sajjad Mehmood, District Coordinator of Epidemics Prevention and Control, on Wednesday said that the district administration, in collaboration with concerned departments, issued tickets to 31, notices to 287, and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on violations of the virus SOPs.

He informed that during indoor surveillance, 1,261 anti-virus teams checked 34,048 houses in the last 24 hours and found the virus larvae at 34 homes. Similarly, he added that 512 teams, during outdoor surveillance, inspected 15,307 spots and detected no larvae at any place.
The health department officer added that with the change in weather, dengue cases had reached their lowest level, while no virus cases have been reported in the district for the last five days.
