BANNU, Pakistan: Early Tuesday morning, a passenger coach traveling from Islamabad to Bannu was targeted by armed robbers near Dara Tang around 3 a.m. Police reported that the robbers attempted to stop the vehicle, but when the driver refused to comply, they opened fire. The attack resulted in injuries to ten passengers, who were swiftly taken to a local hospital in Lakki Marwat for medical treatment

This incident is part of a worrying trend, as just earlier this month, a similar attack occurred on the Indus Highway, resulting in one fatality and three additional injuries.

Authorities are currently investigating both incidents, highlighting the ongoing security challenges faced by passengers in the region. The recent spate of violence has raised concerns over safety on public transport, prompting calls for enhanced security measures to protect travelers. With the rise in such incidents, ensuring passenger safety has become an urgent priority for local law enforcement agencies.
