TEHRAN, Iran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the sidelines of the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, from October 22 to 24.
The news appearing Tehran Times state that this bilateral meeting comes amid escalating regional tensions, particularly involving Iran and the Zionist regime, as well as ongoing conflicts in Lebanon and Gaza. The meeting is seen as an opportunity to discuss regional issues and explore possible areas of cooperation between the two nations.
Diplomatic sources indicated that discussions began during a recent visit by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Cairo, laying the groundwork for this high-level engagement.
Pezeshkian’s visit to Russia will include talks with other global leaders, such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, in addition to participating in the BRICS summit’s main sessions.
Russia, which currently holds the BRICS presidency, has organized over 400 events in 2024, further emphasizing the significance of this summit in shaping future geopolitical dynamics.
