ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly session being held today has been delayed till 6 pm, the assembly secretariat said in a statement.
According to the National Assembly Secretariat, the session which was scheduled to start at 11 am under the chairmanship of Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has been delayed. The secretariat has announced that the NA speaker changed the time under Rule 49. The secretariat has issued an eight-point agenda for the session.
The government and its allies are making efforts to ensure the approval of the constitutional amendment since last month. Earlier, on September 16, the National Assembly was adjourned indefinitely due to the lack of consensus on the proposed amendment to the Constitution as the government failed to muster the required numbers, local media reported.
