HONG KONG: The China International Development Cooperation Agency has announced that China will supply emergency medical supplies to Lebanon amid escalating fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
Li Ming, a spokesperson for the agency, stated that recent explosions and air strikes in various regions of Lebanon have resulted in numerous casualties.
“In response to the Lebanese government’s request, the Chinese government has decided to provide emergency humanitarian medical supplies to assist Lebanon with medical aid,” the statement read.
Hezbollah launched rockets at Haifa, Israel’s third-largest city, while Israel appeared ready to broaden its military operations into Lebanon, a year after the devastating Hamas attack that triggered the Gaza war.
The conflict has increasingly shifted north to Lebanon, where Israeli forces have been exchanging fire with Hezbollah since the group began launching missiles in support of Hamas on October 8.
