GAZA, Palestine: More than 30 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli air strike targeting a school and institute sheltering displaced individuals in Gaza, according to the Voice of Palestine radio on Wednesday.
The school, which was providing refuge for families amidst ongoing conflict, became the latest site of devastation in the region. The air strike comes as tensions continue to escalate in Gaza, where thousands of civilians have been displaced from their homes due to ongoing Israeli military operations. The strike has sparked renewed outrage and concern over the safety of civilians in the densely populated enclave, where schools, hospitals, and other civilian infrastructure have been repeatedly hit in the ongoing conflict.
This incident adds to the growing death toll in Gaza, where Israeli air raids have intensified, displacing vast numbers of residents and causing widespread destruction. International bodies and humanitarian organizations have expressed concern over the mounting civilian casualties which has exceeded over 41,000 mostly women and children and have called for urgent measures to protect non-combatants in the conflict.
