RAMALLAH: Health officials said on Monday that a teenage girl was killed by Israeli troops during a military operation in the occupied West Bank. Aljazeera reported that Israeli troops have killed her during a military raid on the city of Jenin.
According to Khalil Suleiman Government Hospital, Jana Zakaran, 16, was hit with a gunshot in the head. Health officials said she was shot in the head. Officials added that at least two other Palestinians were injured by Israeli troops’ fire during the raid in the city.
Health Officials Confirmed the Death
Local media reported that she (Jana Zakaran) was found dead in her home after the Israeli forces withdrew from Jenin. Reports said that more than 50 Palestinian children have been killed by Israel so far in the current year in occupied territories including West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem.
It may be recalled that Israeli troops killed four Palestinians during raids on Ramallah and Jenin on Thursday. Reports said that as many as 150 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank and east Jerusalem in 2022.
The United Nations (UN) termed 2022 the deadliest year for Palestinians since 2006.
