NEW YORK: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) have signed a cooperation agreement to boost humanitarian work, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
The agreement was signed by Advisor to the Royal Court and KSrelief Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah and UNRWA’s Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, in New York.
The agreement entails collaboration in the humanitarian sphere, as well as the exchange of knowledge, research, expertise, experience, and studies.
The two organizations will also join forces to provide training to enhance the capabilities of humanitarian workers. They will also participate in seminars, conferences, workshops, and exhibitions on topics of mutual interest, and will highlight their collective humanitarian efforts in the media.
Moreover, they will cooperate on voluntary medical projects, including health education and surgery.
The agreement demonstrates KSrelief’s commitment to fostering strategic alliances with global partners, bolstering humanitarian endeavors and strengthening operational mechanisms.
