KABUL: A huge blast and gunfire were heard on Monday near a hotel popular with Chinese business visitors in Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan, an eyewitness said.
Although the Taliban claim that they have improved Afghanistan’s national security since returning to power in August 2021; however, there have been several bomb blasts and attacks in the country. The Islamic State group’s local chapter claimed many of these attacks.

An eyewitness told AFP that the blast was very loud, and then there was heavy gunfire. Afghan media also reported similar details about the attack in the capital city.
Immediately, security officials were not available to comment on the blast in Shahr-e-naw, one of Kabul’s main commercial areas.
