ISLAMABAD: Veteran Lollywood director Syed Noor has expressed his pride in the achievements of Pakistani actress Resham, despite her recent denial of his role as her mentor.

In a podcast interview, Noor shared his feelings of disappointment over Resham’s lack of acknowledgment but maintained a positive stance on her acting career.

During the podcast, Noor addressed the ongoing controversy regarding his mentorship of Resham, stating, “Although I introduced her to the film industry, she does not recognize me as her mentor. Instead, she attributes her success to Ayub Khawar and a few others.”

Despite this, Noor conveyed his admiration for Resham’s talent and his pride in having played a role in her early career development.

Noor detailed his contributions to Resham’s career, revealing that he invested considerable effort in enhancing her on-screen persona. “I worked hard on her appearance, teaching her how to choose hairstyles and outfits. Despite all this, I am not upset with Resham,” he explained.

The director also commented on Resham’s current status in the film industry. “I don’t know why she isn’t working anymore or why she’s not being cast in films. As for me, I currently don’t have a role that would suit Resham for my films,” Noor said.

He remained open to future collaboration, adding, “If I have a suitable role for her in the future, I will definitely cast her.”

Resham recently made headlines with her own comments about Noor, accusing him of damaging her career. She alleged that Noor had humiliated her on a film set and questioned who would cast her in their films.

Resham also claimed that Noor’s romantic interest in actress Saima led him to cast her exclusively, thereby sidelining Resham.

The actress claimed that Noor had metaphorically “chopped off her legs,” suggesting that his actions severely impacted her career prospects.
