WASHINGTON DC: The Pakistan Embassy in Washington D.C. held a flag hoisting ceremony on Wednesday to celebrate the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan.
Charge d’Affaires Dr. Fareha Bugti hoisted the Pakistani flag at the Embassy courtyard. The ceremony was attended by a large number of Pakistani diaspora.
Special messages from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif were read out on the occasion.
Both leaders paid homage to the immense sacrifices of our forefathers and the heroes of the Pakistan Movement, who fought tirelessly for an independent country.
Charge d’Affaires Dr. Fareha Bugti, along with the officers of the Embassy and other guests, cut the cake to mark the 77th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence.
