PM Shehbaz Launches National Campaign to Eradicate Hepatitis C

ISLAMABAD: On World Hepatitis Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a nationwide campaign aimed at eradicating Hepatitis C. In his message, the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s firm dedication to overcoming the challenges posed by Hepatitis.

Sharif emphasized the importance of decentralizing testing and treatment centers, ensuring that services are tailored to the needs of citizens in alignment with the Global Strategy. He reassured and reaffirmed that all citizens would have free access to screening and treatment facilities for Hepatitis C.

Recalling his tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab, Sharif highlighted the establishment of the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute and the setup of modern Hepatitis Filter Clinics in all 36 districts of Punjab. He expressed confidence in replicating this success nationwide.

On World Hepatitis Day, the Prime Minister urged unity in raising awareness, supporting those affected by viral hepatitis, and working towards a future free from the disease. “Together, we can make a difference and build a healthier and more prosperous nation,” he said.
