PARIS: Rafael Nadal has acknowledged that he is undecided over where and when he will end his tennis career but it is clear his last appearance is looming large.
However, his rival Andy Murray has confirmed to end his tennis career at the Olympic Games in Paris, any proposal that Nadal will follow in his footsteps have been banished and yet it could be his final greetings.
Following plenty of confusion, there now appears to be a degree of certainty on Rafael Nadal hanging up his racket at some point in 2024 given his recent remarks.
His good form as Nadal reached his first ATP Tour level final since the 2022 French Open in Bastad last weekend powered hopes that the star may continue his career into 2025.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion has said several times that he would end his career at some point this year.
In a statement, he said, “Give me 60 days until the Olympics, and then let’s see if I am in a position to keep going or I say, ‘okay guys, it’s more than enough’. Let’s see.”
The Olympics games have clearly been on his mind for some time as he plans his departure from tennis and we may not get to see Rafael Nadal in a competitive atmosphere too many more times following he plays his final game in Paris.
