Mushaal Mullick Terms Burhan Wani Symbol of Commitment to Freedom for Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD: Former adviser to Pakistan prime minister on human rights Mushaal Mullick on Monday said Burhan Wani is the epitome of courage and a symbol of unflinching commitment to freedom for the people of Kashmir.

Wife of jailed Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, in a video message shared on social media on the 8th martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani, said that the movement started by Burhan had reached every of Indian Illegaly Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

She said the bravery and courage of the late freedom fighter with which he fought against the brutality of occupied Indian forces is a source of inspiration for every Kashmiri youth.

Mullick further said Wani exposed the actual face of Indian oppression in his fight for the freedom of Kashmir, stressing that young Kashmiris are following in the footsteps of Wani against the ill intentions of India in front of the whole world.

Meanwhile, illegally detained Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Masarrat Alam Butt has paid tribute to Shaheed Burhan Wani and his associates on their martyrdom anniversary.

According to media reports, Burhan Wani, along with his two fellows, was martyred by Indian troops in a fake encounter in Kokernag on July 8, 2016. Masarrat Alam Butt, in his message from Tihar Jail on the eve of the eighth martyrdom anniversary of Wani, lauded Burhan Wani as a role model for the people of Kashmir in their struggle against Indian oppression.

The APHC urged the Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) to organize protest rallies, seminars and other events to honour popular youth leader Wani and his companions, who lit the candle of Kashmir’s freedom movement with their blood.

Masarrat Alam Butt termed Wani as a role model for the people of Kashmir in their struggle against Indian subjugation.
