Pakistan Minister Stresses Role of Islamic Scholars in Maintaining Peace in Muharram

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain underscored the crucial role of Islamic scholars in fostering unity, brotherhood, and peace, particularly during Muharram-ul-Haram.

He made these remarks during a meeting with prominent scholars and religious leaders at the Council of Islamic Ideology in Islamabad today, highlighting ongoing efforts to eliminate the remnants of extremism and radicalism in the country.

Chairman of the Council, Dr. Raghib Naeemi, spoke about the “Azm-e-Istihkam” initiative aimed at reinforcing the National Action Plan and achieving peace objectives.

He emphasized the importance of implementing a specific code of conduct for Muharram-ul-Haram to ensure law and order.
