JENIN: Palestinian health officials said on Tuesday that Israeli forces martyred seven Palestinians during a raid in the West Bank city of Jenin, where the military said it had launched a counterterrorism operation.
The Palestinian health ministry in Ramallah said 9 people had been injured, including two who were in critical condition, according to AFP.
The Israeli military said that forces had launched a “counterterrorism operation in Jenin and they were fighting with armed men”, without giving further details.
Palestinian Martyrs Included a Surgeon
Palestinian official news agency Wafa reported that among those martyred was a surgeon, Usaeed Jabareen, from the Jenin government hospital.
A school teacher and a student were also among the martyred, Wafa reported, quoting hospital director Wissam Bakr.
