FIFA World Cup 2022: Ghana defeat South Korea 3-2

ISLAMABAD: In the FIFA World Cup football’s Group H match between Ghana and South Korea, the African side defeated the Asians 3 goals to 2.

This was the day’s second high-scoring game, as earlier Serbia and Cameroon 3-3.

While the Koreans had a higher ball possession of 52 percent, Ghana with 31 percent, and against the flow of the game emerged victorious. Seven percent of the ball possession was contested.

Ghana’s Mohammed Salisu scored first goal in the 24th minute and struck again in the 34th with Mohammed Kudus netting the ball. At the end of the first half, the Africans were leading 2-0.

The second half saw a determined South Korean side fighting back, with two goals by Cho Gue-sung in the 58th minute and 61st minute to level the match at 2-2.

However, with Mohammed Kudus scoring again in the 68th minute, Ghana regained the lead. Till the blowing of the final whistle, South Korea remained unable to find an equalizer.
