KARACHI: Renowned Pakistani actress Maryam Nafees Jabbar has stated her denial to work on a drama written by Khalilur Rehman Qamar, a local television reported on Sunday.
Speaking on a private TV show segment, she explained that her decision is not based on Qamar’s dramas themselves but on his personal opinion and certain remarks he has made. Maryam has clarified that her position is about principles, not personal matters, emphasizing her respect for Qamar as an individual.
She insisted that she does not view him negatively but has various reservations regarding some of his perspectives, especially about women’s rights. Maryam’ decision shows her commitment to aligning with projects and people whose values resonate with her own principles. However, Khalilur Rehman Qamar has not yet issued any comment over the remarks of Maryam.
